Production

Castello di Cacchiano is a historic estate in Gaiole in Chianti, owned by the Ricasoli-Firidolfi family. The vineyards lie at elevations of 340–490 metres on soils that include clay, marl and limestone. The 2022 Chianti Classico is made from 95% Sangiovese and a combined 5% Malvasia Nera and Colorino. Following stainless-steel fermentation and approximately ten days of skin contact, it matures for around ten months in Slavonian casks, preserving the freshness and savoury character of Sangiovese.

Tasting notes
