A classic template for a seated dinner party. The main focus is on a good red wine and white wine with the meal, with sparkling wine to start and perhaps a dessert wine to finish.

Good to remember
A standard 750 ml bottle gives five 150 ml glasses. If you pour less (e.g. 125 ml for sparkling wine) you get six glasses.
In summer and with canapés, you go through more white wine and rosé. In winter and with dinner, it's usually 50–60% red wine. The calculator takes this into account.
Allow 1–2 litres of water, soft drinks or juice per guest, and have good alcohol-free options available. It lifts the party and is essential for designated drivers.
