Our story
From Denmark to Iceland
AMKA imports fine wines from around the world. The company was founded in 1978 in Denmark by Anna Marie Søndergaard. The name comes from the initials of her first and middle name (AM) and the first two letters of her husband Karsten (KA).
We are part of AMKA Group, with operations across the Nordics, the Baltics, Germany and Poland. We enjoy being able to choose from the vast range in AMKA's warehouse in Denmark, serving the Icelandic market with a wide selection and usually short delivery times.
Purpose
AMKA is a well-established family business. We are a strong distribution and supplier partner across a large market area. We serve over 12,500 customers in our regions, giving our partners access to great opportunities.
Wine knowledge
We strive to provide good, personal service and to share the deep wine knowledge we hold with our customers. Training our customers' staff is one of the cornerstones of our work.
