Where can I buy AMKA's wines?
AMKA's wines are sold through Vínbúðin, Iceland's state alcohol stores. On every wine page on amka.is there's a "Find at Vínbúðin" button that opens Vínbúðin's search results for the wine's name.
What wines does AMKA offer?
AMKA imports over 100 fine wines — red, white, rosé, sparkling, port and fortified wines — from more than 10 countries around the world. The full range is published at amka.is/vorur.
Can I order wine directly from AMKA?
AMKA is a wholesaler and sells its wines through Vínbúðin. Restaurants, hotels and shops can contact us at amka@amka.is or on +354 840 9539 to discuss wholesale cooperation.
Does AMKA serve restaurants and hotels?
Yes. AMKA serves over 12,500 customers across the Nordics, including restaurants, hotels, shops and retailers. We offer personal advice on wine selection and staff training.
How do I find a wine that pairs with a particular dish?
amka.is has a dedicated filter where you can choose dishes (lamb, fish, sushi, cheese and more) and get a list of wines that pair with them. Use the "Pairs with" filter at amka.is/vorur or go straight to pages like amka.is/vinmedmat/lambakjot.
Where does AMKA come from?
AMKA was founded in 1978 in Denmark by Anna Marie Søndergaard. The name comes from her initials (AM) and the first two letters of her husband Karsten (KA). We are part of AMKA Group, with operations across the Nordics, the Baltics, Germany and Poland.
