Production
Viberti Giovanni, a family-owned winery established in 1923 in Piedmont’s Langhe region, is renowned for its dedication to traditional winemaking. The Langhe Dolbà is a distinctive blend of two indigenous varietals, Dolcetto and Barbera, reflecting the estate’s commitment to showcasing the unique characteristics of local grapes. Each varietal is hand-harvested and vinified separately in stainless steel tanks to preserve their fresh fruit aromas. Following fermentation, the wines are aged for 6 to 8 months in stainless steel tanks, with an additional 2 months in the bottle prior to release. This approach maintains the wine’s vibrant acidity and fruit-forward profile, making it an approachable and enjoyable expression of the Langhe terroir.
Tasting notes
Exhibiting a deep ruby color with hints of purple, the nose offers ripe red and dark fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle floral notes and a touch of licorice and star anise. On the palate, it has a medium body with velvety tannins, providing a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. The flavors of fruits continue to dominate, with additional layers of earth and spice that linger on the finish.
