Jean-Louis Chave Saint-Joseph "Offerus" is a northern Rhône Syrah from the steep granitic slopes of Saint-Joseph. The wine shows the classic structure of the appellation, with dark berry fruit, violet, black pepper, savoury herbs, and firm but polished tannins. Alongside the fruit, there is a distinct mineral and savoury register: graphite, black olive, smoked meat, and earthy spice. It is medium-bodied rather than heavy, with freshness, tension, and a long, dry finish that makes it especially suited to food.

Deep ruby in colour. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet, black pepper, graphite, black olive, smoked meat, and earthy spice. The palate is dry and medium-bodied, with dark fruit, fresh acidity, fine tannins, savoury depth, and a long peppery, mineral finish.
