Domaine Jean Monnier, Pommard, 1er Cru Les Fremiers

France

Sourced from the Premier Cru Les Fremiers vineyard, this wine is a pure expression of Pommard’s structured and age-worthy style. The vineyard’s limestone-rich clay soils provide an excellent foundation for Pinot Noir, yielding wines with depth, minerality, and firm tannic structure. A combination of traditional vinification and careful barrel aging enhances complexity while allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront. Extended maturation refines the wine’s texture, bringing balance between power and elegance.

Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils, a family-run estate since 1720, is located in Meursault, within Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The domaine spans 16 hectares, with vineyards primarily situated on the hillsides of Meursault and Pommard, offering a variety of remarkable terroirs. The estate is currently managed by Nicolas Monnier, the 16th generation of the family, who continues the tradition of producing wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their vineyards.
