Production

Domaine Christophe Violot-Guillemard is a family-run estate based in Pommard, Burgundy, known for its meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking. While the domaine is primarily associated with Pommard and Volnay, its Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru “Les Damodes” is a standout expression of this renowned terroir. The vineyard, located at the northern edge of Nuits-Saint-Georges, near the border with Vosne-Romanée, sits on gravelly limestone soils at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, lending finesse and structure to the wine.

Tasting notes

This wine opens with fragrant aromas of wild cherry, red currant, and crushed violets, layered with subtle hints of earth, baking spice, and graphite. The palate is refined and structured, showcasing silky tannins, bright acidity, and a core of red fruit and minerality. The finish is long and persistent, leaving an impression of sous bois (forest floor), spice, and delicate floral notes.
