Product description
Viberti Giovanni, a family-owned winery nestled in the heart of Piedmont’s Langhe region, has been producing exceptional wines since 1923. The Barbera d’Alba La Gemella is a tribute to the winemaker’s mother, Maria, who is a twin—hence the name “La Gemella,” meaning “the twin.” This wine reflects the family’s dedication to traditional winemaking and the expressive potential of the Barbera grape. The Barbera grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Barbera d’Alba appellation, known for its calcareous clay soils and favorable microclimate. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve their aromatic freshness. The wine is then aged for one year in large oak casks and stainless steel tanks, followed by additional refinement in the bottle before release. This careful process results in a Barbera that balances vibrant fruit flavors with structure and elegance. | |
